Guarantee Electrical Awarded Contract for New Dental Education and Oral Health Clinic in St. Louis
Guarantee Electrical Company was recently awarded the electrical construction package on the new A.T. Still University construction project in St. Louis, Missouri. The project, a combined education and healthcare project, is a natural fit given GECO’s history of performance in the education and healthcare markets. Guarantee Electrical will be subcontracting to Musick Construction who is the General Contractor on the project. The design-assist component will ensure constructability while also maintaining budget control to assure no cost-overruns. Guarantee will handle all site electrical, electrical utilities and electrical construction on the project. The building’s power distribution will be designed to respond to current power needs with the flexibility to expand and accommodate future space, function, and technological needs.
The new school is poised to be the flagship community-based clinic for ATSU in St. Louis, providing a tool for recruitment and retention of both students and faculty. Located near Park Ave. and Truman Blvd., ATSU is a community-based clinic, providing disadvantaged populations access to dental care through the university. The 79,000 square foot building will be primarily for third and fourth year dental students, and will serve as the primary clinical education site for dental students in ATSU’s Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-MOSDOH) enabling more than 39,000 patient visits per year in the St. Louis metro area. At full capacity, the clinic is expected to have up to 95 dental chairs for provision of care to patients. According to Gov. Jay Nixon at the University’s ground breaking ceremony, “Not only will this school provide an incredible opportunity for students to get hands-on, real world experience in a clinic setting, but it will also provide oral health services that are in critical need in this community”.
