Manor Grove Nursing Facility
Location: St. Louis, MO
Client: Manor Grove
Size: 12,900 SF
Guarantee Electrical applied its pre-fabrication ingenuity to fast-track construction of a 12,900-square-foot expansion to the century-old Manor Grove long-term nursing care facility in the St. Louis suburb of Kirkwood. The project enabled Manor Grove to increase its capacity by 40 percent, adding 26 private rooms and bathrooms, a dining room and common areas for visitors.
Because each resident’s bedroom was identical in its configuration and power needs, Guarantee created the electrical system for a single “model” room and then fabricated the necessary components off-site in its pre-fabrication shop for the remaining rooms, achieving cost efficiency, installation speed and high quality construction standards for the owner. Guarantee’s scope of work also included:
- Installing a nurse call system and fire alarm system
- Re-feeding the existing power distribution system
- Relocating the backup generator to better accommodate the new building footprint
Manor Grove has provided exemplary long-term nursing care for hundreds of men and women since 1907. Guarantee served Manor Grove with Kadean Construction Co., general contractor, and the Lawrence Group, architect.
