Internship Opportunities

Discover Your Potential

Interns at Guarantee Electrical Company (GECO) have the opportunity to explore a variety of career paths within the framework of electrical construction.  Whether you choose to follow estimating, engineering, or project management, GECO provides a chance to get genuinely familiar with a full range of available experiences for our interns to better their career options in a challenging and growing industry.

Gain Real-World Experience

This isn’t your “filing and sorting mail” type of internship.  Our interns contribute to the success of our organization, acquiring hands-on experience in the process. We hold our interns to a high standard of performance, and expect them to work alongside our professional employees.  Interns are routinely on the run, visiting various job sites and learning the ways of the industry.  Our goal is to ensure that upon completion of the program, each intern is ready to step into a career and contribute from day one.

Team of Support

At Guarantee Electrical Company, we believe in setting you up for success.  To do so, we’ve established a support team around our interns.  On day one, our interns are assigned a formal mentor and professional guide to work with them closely for the duration who they work with closely throughout the program.  In addition, we’ve designated a team of informal mentors who will routinely check-in with interns to provide an additional variety of perspective and experiences.

Network and Build Relationships for the Future

Within our industry, networking and building relationships are critical skillsets.  Therefore, we have created opportunities that provide interns with chances to learn the art of networking and developing relationships within the industry.  We intentionally take time away from the daily routines and tasks to relax and socialize with our peers in the field.  Whether it is attending sporting events, shooting pool, playing shuffleboard, or making use of our golf simulator in our newly established Collaboration Room, our interns are encouraged to have some fun networking with other industry professionals.

Structured Success with Room to Grow

Our leaders recognized the importance of structure when developing the Internship Program.  With this in mind, a number of key elements have been integrated into our internship program including the following:

  • A formal welcome orientation
  • Structured onboarding, training, and mentorship
  • Weekly planning sessions
  • Various points of reflection on key topics affecting the electrical construction industry
  • Final capstone presentation

Although we provide a structured introduction to electrical construction and its several disciplines within our program, interns are encouraged to be creative and leverage their career interests.  As a company, we are always exploring new methods and techniques, which means no idea is unwelcome.
