For the 19th year, the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Missouri held its annual Construction Awards Gala to honor and highlight the creativity and talents of Missouri’s construction industry. This year also marked the 6th time the AGCMO has awarded its much sought-after “Subcontractor of the Year” (SCOTY) awards, honoring specific specialty subcontracting trades.
Guarantee Electrical Company had an outstanding showing taking home three awards, including the highly coveted top award, Electrical “Subcontractor of the Year” (SCOTY) for a fifth time in 6 years. As in year’s past, GECO was this year’s most nominated specialty subcontractor with four projects in total up for top honors. GECO delivered by winning Project of the Year on two of those; William H. Danforth Wing of the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center (St. Louis, MO); and the December 2015 Flood Mitigation for Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (Fenton, MO). Additionally, Guarantee Electrical finished as a finalist on two projects; Walgreen’s Distribution Center (Pittsburgh, PA); and Jefferson Barracks VA Medical Center Infrastructure Project (St. Louis, MO).
Doug Mertzlufft, President of Guarantee Electrical Company added “The AGC Keystone Awards mean a great deal to Guarantee Electrical Company. We utilize the awards as a benchmark for living up to our mission of providing electrical services that exceed all of our customers’ requirements and expectations. We are honored to be recognized by the General Contracting community for the work we have done on these projects together.”
The AGC St. Louis Construction Keystone Awards honors the achievements of St. Louis construction firms and their employees in building the facilities that support and enhance the quality of life in Greater St. Louis. A Keystone Award recipient exhibits excellence in providing solutions to unique obstacles and challenges specific to their project. A Keystone Award is not given on beauty. The award is based on achieving solutions during construction for the challenges faced by contractors.
