For the fourth straight year, Guarantee Electrical Company has been named as a finalist on multiple projects for the AGC Construction Keystone Awards. With 7 Keystone wins in the last three years, GECO is hoping to continue the streak for its performances on two St. Louis construction projects; Mercy Women’s Health Services 2nd Floor Renovation; SIUe Campus Infrastructure; and three outstate projects; Mercy Joplin Replacement Hospital; SSM Health St. Mary’s Jefferson City; and Cape Girardeau Wastewater Treatment Plant
Working with contractor, McCarthy Building Companies, the Mercy Women’s Health Services Project has already garnered a national Vista Award. As the Prime Contractor on the SIUe Project, GECO replaced a 50 year old electrical infrastructure with more than 25 miles of new conduit and modern technologies without any disruption to daily campus life. From the outset, the Mercy Joplin replacement hospital has shown that community spirit and renewed hope can be born out of a disaster. Working with McCarthy Building Companies, the 900,000sf Mercy Joplin Hospital was completed in just 46 months. SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City is a model project in LEAN construction methodology. Working with Alberici Constructors, the architecture is rooted in evidenced-based design and inspired by groundbreaking research that focuses on healing environments and patient safety. The Cape Girardeau WWTP features the latest technologies in treatment of waste water including, Sequence Batch Reactors (SBR’s), bubble diffuser technologies and two-channel Microwave/Ultraviolet Disinfection Systems. With these new technologies, the WWTP is now able to handle peak capacity of 50 million gallons per day, up from previous capacity of 11 million gallons per day.
The AGC St. Louis Construction Keystone Awards annually celebrates construction excellence and winners will be announced at the awards banquet in November 2015.
