Guarantee Electrical Company was recently awarded the Electrical Construction package on the new Mount Vernon High School project in Mount Vernon, Illinois.  GECO’s history of performance in the education market is unparalleled in the Midwest.  Guarantee Electrical will be subcontracting to McCarthy Building Companies who is the Construction Manager on the project. 

The new high school will be a state of the art, 309,500 square foot complex featuring the latest in construction technology and adapted for future technologies on the front-end.  In addition to the traditional classrooms, gymnasium and theater, the $73 million facility will feature 21ST century classrooms, STEM labs, science labs and a Learning Resource Center.  It will also house the Mt. Vernon Area Career Center, which will focus on vocational training in automotive, manufacturing, agriculture, electronics/robotics, architecture/CAD and construction.   As part of the construction technology requirements, Guarantee will utilize its industry leading “look ahead” planning and project management program to ensure the project will be able to meet the fast paced 18 months construction schedule.  The electrical construction and systems package consists of providing electrical power, lighting, fire protection, alarms, and more to the administration areas, modern classrooms, a trendsetting fully functioning theater and turnkey lighting for a new football stadium.  Additionally, the forward thinking school will be roughed-in to prepare for future student growth and ever changing technologies in education.
