Guarantee Electrical played a pivotal role in the upgrade and expansion of the Tomahawk Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility in Johnson County, Kansas. This large-scale project increased the plant’s capacity from 19 million gallons per day to 172 million, allowing for enhanced water treatment capabilities during both wet and dry weather conditions. The project involved the installation of one of the world’s largest Aqua-Aerobic disk filtration systems and the construction of 30 new structures.
Guarantee’s expertise in managing complex electrical systems was crucial for the project’s success. The team installed 9 miles of underground utilities, new control systems, and backup generators, ensuring continuous operation. The facility now serves a growing population with environmentally friendly water management solutions.
Project Highlights:
- Installation of one of the largest Aqua-Aerobic disk filtration systems globally.
- Over 50,000 cubic yards of concrete used, equivalent to 18 Olympic-sized pools.
- Three tower cranes operated simultaneously at the project’s peak.
- Facility capacity increased to treat 172 million gallons per day.
- All wastewater flows now treated on-site, improving water management efficiency.
